Does anyone but me remember this website? I used to read that site religiously, every day. It was so well done, very funny, just a touch of sarcasm for good measure. The site is still there, but it's been 3-4 years since it was updated. Does anyone have any idea what happened to them??

I heard they've been busy.

Whatever you do don't email them asking where they went. They've been getting kind of annoyed at that. One person called the police or something to make sure they weren't dead, and ever since then they've been kinda pissy about it. At least that's what I remember.

Sure, it was great, but I guess that Jack lost interest... it would have been nice if he told us he was leaving, however.

Oh, I had no intention of trying to contact them. I don't even know why that site came to mind, I knew it had been out of commission for a LONG time, I just happened to think of it, and figured I'd ask here.

Yeah, that site was hilarious. The guy just decided to stop doing it one day, though, and get on with other stuff. There was a thread about it a couple of years back.

Agreed, but still, it would have been pretty easy for him to have simply put a one-sentence sign-off note on his site.

Heh. I used to read those sites routinely back in the day, as I suspect many other Mac users did as well. It's too bad for AtAT. If they return someday I'll "tune in" again for a new episode.

They do have forums ( As the Apple Turns :: Index ) which surprisingly, seem rather active. And I remember reading about another guy who had started a "new version" of AtAT as well.

Edit:

Ah, here we go: As the Apple Turns II

It's a shame.... I'd pay Jack to keep writing.. I used to always tune in at around noon to see the latest.

Jack did some great writing, often really funny stuff, and the polls were great. I remember waiting for that mid-day refresh.

True. Though those who regularly followed his site noticed about a dozen instances of baby-induced hiatus, followed by the appropriate explanation. It was obvious it would happen.

I loved AtAT. The Mac OS Ken podcast reminds me of it sometimes.
