In about 8 hours I will be trying to test out of English 314...that's Technical Communication. The test costs $100 whether I pass or not, so I'm hoping I pass. I'm going to study for a little longer then hopefully get some sleep. With any luck I'll be able to avoid a semester of endless papers and group work.

Well I won't find out the results for another month or so, I didn't think it was too bad, but they take my results and compare them to a 'good' student in the class to determine whether or not I test out. I guess there's a 10-20% pass rate, so I'm kind of worried. We'll see what happens.

no, if you get passed this % your good? at my college if someone wants to test out of a class they have to get an 80% or more to pass. Anything, even a 79%, no go. why compare your work to a "good students" work? you either do well or you don't. anyways, good luck with this Mr. Gossamer

10-20% of the students that take the test pass it. And they want to make sure I don't need to take the class, so they make sure that my work is up to par with someone that has taken the class already.
