I've read and heard a lot about this game recently. I've been told it's a great game that is overlooked by most because of its kiddie appearance.

Has anyone on the boards played this game? I'm really wanting to know if I should be leery of picking it up, and I have nothing but IGN and 1UP for suggestions.

I bought it for my wife and she really likes it. It seems like it is aimed a little at the younger generation, but it still seems to be really fun.

It's the best game no one played.

It's a game like Zoo Tycoon or other games in that genre. If you like those type of games, get it. If not, I'd at the very least rent it.

The graphics are excellent too. The kiddie appearance overshadows it for many people, but if you overlook that, there are no jaggies at all, and I swear that the dirt textures are on the same level as Gears of War.

I think the only annoying thing is the box it comes in. It looks stupid on a shelf, and trying to get the disc out is like trying to take a piece of paper out of a bottle. You can do it, but it's tedious. Not to mention that the manuals 'n things that come with it like falling out.

Very fun game. Bought it for my 5 year old daughter and my wife and I have ended up being hooked on it.

Quick, but important, question.

They're piñatas, so you are supposed to beat them open. Okay.

From the review I saw on X-Play, it seemed as if they run away from you and yelp in pain as you bludgeon them to death.

While I appreciate dark as much as the next guy, this is a brand of dark that really doesn't appeal.

Am I overreacting?

I bought it and wasn't able to get into it. Then again, I've only played it for about 2 hours or so.

My problem is that all of my video game time is being spent playing Gears of War online.

Viva Pinata just seemed confusing and pointless to me. If a game doesn't hook me right off the bat, it's a bad sign. I'll come back to it at some point, but from my very limited experience, it's not really doing it for me.

It reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where Marge was trying to get the kids to do yardwork, but they went to the fair instead... and once they got there, the kids wanted to play in the yardwork simulator.

Well, I saw it on special at the local BestBuy. I did play it for a while, but having all 3 game consoles (Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3) were 'too much' for me.

It's a fine game and nice packaging too.

Sorry for all the questions, but...

Which of your two remaining systems are you more "in to?"

I've heard about a lot parents who got it so they could have something to play while their kids were awake and conscious of what is being played on the TV. I guess Viva Pinata is more child friendly than Marcus Fenix shouting, "Eat **** and die!" or, "Sup, b****es!"

Most of them seem to be surprised by how hooked they got on Viva.
