Garmin has released their Training Center software for the Mac. Has anyone used it one of the newer Forerunners?
I used to have a 201, but got rid of it because I wanted to be able to use the data on my computer. I bought a Polar HR monitor instead, but it doesn't work well with a Mac either. Garmin finally released their software today and I'm wondering if I should go back to one of the new Forerunners. The 205 and 305 seem much slimmer than the older units and reviews indicate they have better reception.

I just got a copy of Garmin's desktop app to try with my Edge 205. Last year Garmin posted a Safari plugin that let you use the free features of the MotionBased website. So far the desktop app seems very very similiar.
The app itself is kinda rough, but if you're serious about tracking data from your run/ride on your Mac, it's probably about the best solution out there.

I keep trying to download the application to take a look, but it just hangs after about 35MBs whether I use Safari or Firefox. Anyone else having problems? Maybe their servers are just overwhelmed at the moment.

I got my 305 last week and I'm loving it so far. The only thing I don't like about the software are the crummy maps. Is there a way to change the maps? The Help file indicates that it uses MapSource and to go to the Garmin web site for more info. Apparently you can buy MapSource maps, but I don't know how to get the software to use them.

Hi, if you own a ForeRunner, take a look at TrailRunner.
The new Release 1.3 sports a direct connection to Garmin Training Center for Mac OS X. You now can put some colors on trails and internet map loading was greatly improved.
