Today I'm going to have one the worst rowing practices of the season. 8 sessions of 500m at full speed. At best, rowers will be puking, at worst, some of us could pass out. If I suddenly stop posting this week, it's probably because I've died.
Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Is this part of some parole or is there another reason you would willingly put yourself through this?

oh good, i thought you got married to your sister or something. good luck with the row, a friend of mine did it for awhile, but he got tired of it because of all the practices. don't know where he rowed though. it's a very tough thing to do, from what i have heard about it.

pfft. Are the waves higher than your coxswain's head? Are you half sinking into the Charles River? Is it snowing? Are there rats circling your boat? No? Well then row harder!
(Good luck! )

You will do it. You'll do it well. You'll get through it and you'll be a better rower for it. Your team will be better for it. You'll be a better person for it. Afterwards it will be something to be proud of and to build on.
Who is that poster who is proud of everyone? The baseball player who says he proud of people?
Well, HE'D be proud of you.
But if you really want to be special, try this...
At the end of the eighth session inspire your teammates and your coach by yelling, ONE MORE SESSION, C'MON YOU GUYS WE CAN'T BE BEATEN! ONE MORE SESSION!!
And then do it.
You will forever be the stud of all time, your name will become a legend amongst those present and the crew will be unbeatable from then on.
Go for that ninth one. It will be glorious. It will be fun. Guys will be laughing and whooping it up like crazy.
Just do it.

He'd like to be Proud of You®, but then he'd also be Proud of an Infraction

Thanks Eynstyn, I'll take that advice and use it tomorrow. It was pretty bad today, but everyone pulled through and made good time.
It's so much easier in Autumn when it's all about distance, and you can basically just plow through it. Sprints are so much worse.
And SWG: no it's not punishment! It's fun, at least when everything is over.

Infractions for "Proud of You®"???
Ok, where did they hide the Orgasmatron booths and confessional robots?

Delighted with you. Hope I've offended no one with that.

Psst . . . It's Delighted With You ™. Get it right, would ya.

One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

I thought the tm or R marks might have been what made POY infractious. DWY is just words, but DWY with tm is iconic.

I think the infractions came from having posts with no substantial content. So, if the poster-who-shall-remain-nameless replies with a simple POY and nothing else it was seen as being superfluous, insubstantial and without merit. I have gotten a couple infractions for posting similar throwaway comments. My take on it is the mods see it as nothing more than a +1 post couched in a witty phrase. And they have been hell-bent on eliminating the +1 thread abuse.
Anyway, I am proud of you for being willing to discuss this in the open without fear of the dreaded infraction.

Thanks. In the brave new world I hope to be considered worthy.
