This is truly an "Only in Britain" story.
A ginger tom had chased her and even jumped through the cat flap to attack her in her own kitchen.
"When I took her to the vet I was told she had anxiety issues and depression brought on by the stress of being bullied by other cats," said Miss Martin.
Twiglet was prescribed the Prozac-like drug amitriptyline, to be taken once a day.
Sour puss sweetened by a dose of Prozac | the Daily Mail
This reminds of another stupid "news" story, where two brothers in England were sued by the RSPCA for letting their arthritic dog get too fat.

In college I walked a dog that was on Prozac. Say what you will, the dog did much better.

With a name like Twiglet, can you blame the other cats?
Also, "cat flap" cracks me up for some reason.

Sounds like Twiglet could use a "gradual hydro-muscular massage."

That was pretty funny. Maybe this kitty heard about the pricks who put the cats in the oven and thought the PetSpa was a microwave or something. Otherwise he'd have been perfectly tranquil.

I bet the cat in that picture is one of those stuffed ones that they use in pet product shots.

I had a cat that was prescribed the exact same drug. It's quite common. This was a beloved family pet who would not stop getting into terrible bloody fights with another cat and was also pissing on everything. We were trying everything under the sun to "rehabilitate" him.
Unfortunately, we found the stress involved in making the cat take the pill far outweighed the benefits. Which weren't even that great.
Basically, you give the cat the pill, and he sits around stoned and completely useless for about 4-5 hours, and then returns to normal. It doesn't help their anxiety, it just zonks them to the point that nothing bothers them.

So you put him down?
Next time, try the soothing massage of PetSpa!

No, we ended up putting him in cat jail (the guest bedroom) for about 6 months until we finally found a person to adopt him. He is currently living with one of my friends and doing great as the only cat.
We tried all sorts of crazy crap. Sprays, pills, pheromone releasers, separate litter boxes... nothing worked. That little bugger came really close to being put down. He really lucked out, since 8 year old cats don't last long at shelters.
