...or at least the power adapter has.
After 13 months of service, my PowerBook power adapter finally broke. In this case, it wasn't the adapter's fault, but mine.
I've been somewhat rough with it, and the wire finally pulled apart enough to expose the wires. I put another adapter on order a week ago, and started bending the wire in order to make it work. Well, last Wednesday, I was bending the cord, touched the wires, and it shocked the crap out of me. I tried it again after I got settled down, and it started smoking and hissing. Dead.
So my PowerBook has been dead for 5 days. I've been using a Dell at the office, although it's another employee's, so I can't stay on for very long. I'm missing my child.
I called my brother (who lives in Dallas) and asked him to pick up an adapter for me at an Apple store today. He'll ship it to me, so I should have it by Wednesday. I canceled the online Apple Store order, since it hadn't shipped after 6 days (and possibly wouldn't arrive until March 5!).
I'll accept sympathies beginning now.
