PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- An 84-year-old woman accused of attempted rape involving an 11-year-old boy in her foster care has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge after confessing to having sex with the child, prosecutors said Thursday.

Georgie Audean Buoy, of The Dalles, a Columbia River town about 90 miles east of Portland, will serve 36 months in prison, said Leslie Wolf, chief deputy district attorney for Wasco County.

Buoy originally faced six separate charges but reached a plea agreement on a single charge, Wolf said.

She noted that Buoy had faced eight years in prison on the original charges but her "age and lack of prior criminal convictions had a significant impact with the resolution of this case."

Although I'm sure when he goes off to college it'll be an amusing story to tell during parties.

I don't understand how such a disgusting act could have occurred physically. For that matter, I don't understand how a female could ever force sex on a male. Force herself upon him, perhaps, but force intercourse with him? I don't get it.

Honestly, reducing her sentence due to her "age" is something I don't agree with.

The severity of her crime isn't diminished, nor should her sentence be even if it is essentially a "life" charge for someone of her age.

The sentence should have been increased due to her age and the grossness that it adds to the offense.

If you read carefully you will see she pleaded guilty to a lesser charge after confessing to having had sex with the boy. She did not admit to raping him (technicality).

It is possible to rape a man, for the simple reason that it is possible for a determined rapist to, ah, "manually induce" an erection in a man against his will.

I remember seeing a case of a man being raped on Oprah once. It happened in a factory. The little man was held down by the heavy-set all-female assembly line team.

I don't know if the law where they live is way different than everywhere else in the U.S., but any sex with somebody not legally able to give consent is considered rape around here.

I suspect more guys than you think could. Female rape victims often show signs of arousal even if they're horrified too.
