My sister, nephews, and brother-in-law are moving this fall to England (he is in the AF). They will be stationed at Lakeneath...and will likely live off base.

They say that they can't get any good info on high-speed internet options (and what they have seen is really pricy and/or dial up).

Is there anyone in that area that can give me some information to pass on to them?

It would be greatly appreciated!!

OK, you need to get a postcode and/or phone number off them so you can check if they can get ADSL. If you get this info, google.co.uk for BT ADSL checker.

If they can get ADSL (and it's hit and miss, they'll mostly find out only after they've moved in), go look at Demon or Zen - best two ISPs in the country.

If they can't get ADSL, they may be in a cable area, in which case it depends on the cable operator.

If they can't get ADSL or cable, then they're probably looking at dial-up unless they fancy spending the price of a small car each year on a leased line.

That's just about it. Some areas run wireless trials, but it's a very localised thing.

Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

There are many options. Access via ADSL is comprehensively and independently covered at this web site. The other main option is via cable. See here for more details of that. Prices are generally comparable to the US from what I know of US internet access.
