Some sperm donors required to pay child support. What about Egg Donors?

Because of recent litigation, many sperm donors are concerned that they may be forced into child support payments even though they made the donation with a release from all responsibility. The courts are ignoring those contractual releases.
What about egg donors? Why aren't they getting hit up with child support for the children that they donated to other women?

They should be. This bullshit is the main reason I'm not donating sperm any time soon. Damned government taking away my easy money...

In my initial searches, I could find several cases of men being forced to pay child support for sperm donations, but I could not find a single egg donor required to pay child support. I have since found that even though it hasn't been a problem, a case that is finding it's way to the Supreme Court is addressing support requirements for both eggs and sperm.
The story I found was dated 2005, I could not find the results of the Supreme Court decision.

I think it's rather insane that a person who donates (regardless of egg or sperm) should have any financial obligation to the party who chose to have a child with that donor's material. Particularly in these cases, these people are making a choice to have children. That means they are choosing to be financially responsible for the children they are having, whether or not those children have the same genetic material as the parents. To me this falls into the same concept of adoption. Adopting a child means that you take legal, financial, social, mental, physical care of the child. The child no longer is in the care of his/her biological parents and they are not under obligation to be as such.

agreed, doubly. I find it insane that any court would agree with them.

where are you finding this? i find it hard to believe that this (requiring child support from sperm donors) would be true.
