I deal with (help) a lot of teenage girls. This would be typical behavior for youth growing up in a home with minimal parental involvement. Yes, girls can grow out of insecurities and superficial personality development, but obviously worse starting circumstances make this more difficult and require more time. I think girls start out at a significant disadvantage in the US because of mass media bias.

I'm always encouraged by the well adjusted youth on YouTube.

Hell, alot of my sisters' friends from college used to blow Ritalin, they now all work at prestigious Architecture firms.
