My brother is ~8, and saving up for an 'outdoor railway' (one of those ride on train sets for your garden) unfortunately they cost ~£8k.
So my brother has decided to set up a business venture ( ) where kids can send their teddy bears in (to quote my brother "not their most favourite teddy though, maybe their second most favourite!") and get them back a few days later with a scrap book and stuff discussing what the bear did.
I think its an amusingly cute idea. Oh, he got a great name too:

It's certainly thinking outside the box.

I'm nearly positive that such a business actually exists already somewhere in Germany.

Edit:
Yep, here you go: Berlin agency takes teddy bears to see the sights, German News, Germany, Expatica

Kid's on to something.

Kudos to the kids.
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

In related news, an army recruiter came to talk to my 3-year-old daughter's preschool class today. Completely serious. Maybe she'll be going to Iraq next year. :/

But anyhow what was their purpose there?

I am sure they weren't attempting to recruit anyone.

Teddy bears are taking massive casualties in Iraq and they'd like to get the 3 year olds to start a Teddy bear M*A*S*H unit.

They periodically have people come in and talk about their jobs, and if they're in uniforms the kids think it's particularly cool. It was just weird when she brought home army stickers and pins from preschool.

BTW, her preschool also did one of these "Teddy Bear travels" projects, where every kid gets the Teddy Bear for a week and they add something.
