Um....Excel, Keynote, AppleWorks. Take your pick.

Any spreadsheet application (of which MS Excel is the most popular).

Also, Pages (word processor) and Keynote (presentation) both have a decent charting tool built in. It includes pretty 3D versions.

Or, have a look at OmniGraffle. It's a general charting application, and there's a free version.

(edit) On second thoughts, I don't think OmniGraffle does this sort of charing, but I could be wrong.

Nope, it doesn't. Just Visio style stuff.

Rob, Excel's your best bet.

Damnit. I hate excel. It's too complicated, and I never bothered learning how to use it since it's so boring. ARgh. Now I have to install office, since I don't have keynote.

Screw it, I guess I'm going to try to acquire Keynote from a friend. I hate excel. To me it represents everything wrong with the world.

OpenOffice? Try NeoOffice, the OS X port.

Well if you hate office, you'll love Kenote and Pages. Keynote is (according to most users) far better than PowerPoint. Pages is an excellent word processor as well. Not as feature rich as word, but somewhat easier to use (certainly better at page layout, in some respects). Both Pages and Keynote have a very good charting tool built in.

Pages is ok, to call it excellent is a bit much I think though. The thing can bog down so easily if you're doing even simple page layout, and it crashed on me the other day, loosing my work - at least Word autosaves a backup.

Not yet, though there are indications that it's coming.

Isn't this an Applications question?
Anyway, if you really want to do something spiffy, Igor Pro has a fully-functional demo.

Seconded. It's just like Excel, except it's Intel native (and free, not that that matters). There's nothing really to "learn," you just have a few columns of numbers and hit the Chart button, it does most of it for you. Excel is a really great tool for some of the engineering stuff i have to do. Typing an equation once and just dragging it down 20 rows is incredibly convenient.

Here is a curve-ball: Do you have Illustrator installed?
If so then that has very good and often overlooked 'Graphs' tool built right in. It does Bar Charts, Pie Charts, and is quite flexible, Here is a tutorial for making more interesting ones.

Good call. That's been around since Illustrator 5 IIRC.

Anyway, my vote also goes for Keynote. Awesome looking graphs easy.

Oops, hit reply in wrong thread

But since I'm here I'll recommend handmade HTML and CSS for graphs - fun, free and filled with procrastinative goodness

Or multiple empty Stickies notes placed side by side, measured their relative width/height in pixels using xScope on top of a nice background image and then into a screen grab.

Or, uh, Keynote.
