A kodak moment

Steve Ballmer and co look anything but 'wowed'. In a way, this photo captures everything that Microsoft is. Un-inspiring, rather blend, kinda boring, pretty ugly and full of itself without offering anything save the bare essentials. Which is done half-handed and ham-fisted.

In a word. Boring.

I think he died, but they didn't want to ruin the show; so they just propped him up on the chair.

I can see a porn image on that screen behind, but I bet it would get kicked.

They had a glossy fold-out in Rolling Stone, all this "Wow" stuff and it was actually one of the most sparse, mediocre, un-wow ads I've seen. They seem to be hawking their glassy icons more than anything else, at least visually.

"'Jelly Hat' sounds silly," I told Prince. "How about something poetic, like 'Raspberry Beret.'"

I think what they're trying to say here is that "wow" is a relative term. And if the general public wants to interpret "wow" as something cool, well then that's their deal. But we here at Microsoft feel that "wow" means business suits and old white guys (with a token Asian dude, cuz Asian people look smart) sitting around trying not to fall asleep.

Actually, about half of the class content is on the intraweb. Admittedly not 'NN...

Right now we're watching a film about dredging harbors and canals. I should probably just be sleeping like the other half of the class that's not surfing the web on their laptops.

Nahhh - write a full-bore history of canals and their role in the industrial revolution and wow the prof.

(Wow. Being a canal geek isn't exactly rock and roll, is it? I must go shoot myself)

Unfortunately it is not that kind of class. It is a large lecture hall with 200+ students.

Canals was just today. Last week was Railway travel/transport. The French have a pretty cool setup there with the TGV.

I do have to do a paper on the new Denver Airport. Any experts here want to make my life easier? I am focusing on Terminal Layout.

Is Vista selling well? I used a beta version and it seemed to be nice looking, but almost the same as XP. Not much forward innovation.

I love how the stupid UAC dialogue is so ubiquitous that I've hardly actually used Vista and I recognized it right away.

I turned that off, but found out that I can't install Adobe reader unless UAC is turned ON.

Ballmer has full sabre control. Either that or he forgot to pop a Viagra before the "big show".
