Gosh I hate PCs. My sister has a new Dell. She has imported her photos into MediaCenter and she has imported her music from her CDs into Media Center. She wants to make a slideshow. She is finished but when she selects the music to go with the show it says it is copyright protected. How does she fix this problem? I know this is a Mac forum but you are the only ones I know to turn to. I only know Macs and nothing about PCs. Thanks

You should take her photos and music and do the same on your Mac. Then tell her about Dell's return policy.
My mother-in-law asked me last night what PC her nephew should get for going to college (he's taking Computer Science) - I said a MacBook. She said "but they have a Windows PC at home, so what kind of PC should he get." I repeated "a MacBook." I used to say HP or Compaq or something like that when asked to recommend a Windows-PC, but now, screw it. If they want my opinion, they're going to get it.

I hate these quandaries as well. Whenever family/friends ask about what to do to fix Windows, I just reply the same way "get a Mac"; and I'm a computer scientist (FWIW). Microsoft software doesn't make much sense. It may run a wide variety of programs, but it isn't integrated or planned out in any systematic way.

Returning back to Windows is NOT like riding a bike. Every time I have to use one at work, I get severely frustrated within 5 minutes.

Yeah, pretty much all of my family uses windows, and I'm still the only one who can help them it's so annoying.
Anything I have to figure out on there takes an hour whereas I can do it in 30 seconds on my mac, and if I don't know how, the help is invaluble on Macs. Windows help does nothing.

Has she tried playing it with no music? WMC may have somehow figured out her cd is "copy protected material". Additionally she should set Windows Media Player to rip cd's without using DRM.

It is if we're talking about one of these bikes.
