That was last night
how do you go an entire day without noticing the hour difference?

I thought this thread would be about how stupid DST is to begin with, not "how did you make it this far without changing your clocks?"
I would have done just fine without changing my clocks-it's Sunday and I don't have any appointments or commitments today. And tomorrow starts spring break, so I have very few worries about time for several days. I'm just ticked that our beloved Congress decided to take our lives into the twilight zone for an extra two months-without enough data to show the the existing DST plan saved anything at all.

Why have they done this?
Haven't recent studies shown that it doesn't actually save any energy?

I do use time.nist.gov to sync all my computers' time though.

Does GPS have the accuracy to register the difference between the unit held in your outstretched left hand and your outstretched right hand?

My "less expensive" one doesn't, but there are units that can.

The GPS in our car is amazingly accurate. I constantly marvel at its precision. We're in Chicago right now and having a guidance system totally changes the way you drive in a city that you don't know all that well.

So the accuracy is a function of the unit as well as the system, I gather. I recall when they allowed civilian use to be as accurate as the military's.

Although a java clock on a website may not be that accurate, Network Time Protocol is usually within 1/100th of a second over the public internet.

My wife is the anal retentive type. Just to make sure, she set the clocks ahead about 4:00 PM on Saturday. I explained to her that it would make things confusing since we were meeting my parents at 7:00 for dinner, but she insisted because I'd be too tired to change them whenever we go back home that night.

What I don't understand is why do computers need to have their software updated? Don't they just get the new DST time from a time server??

Yeah, people's issue isn't with when what happens but that time keeps changing. Just pick one and be done with it.

The time server doesn't know which time zone and country you are sitting in.
