I was walking across campus today and saw this:

The driver's side window and sunroof are painted over. I really feel bad for whoever owns this car, as it looked very nice minus the paint, and it's not as if it's an H2 or some other gas guzzler.
Just sad.

Photoshop? Too bad you said you walked by it. Whoever did that should be made to ingest a can of spray paint. Makes sense it would happen on a campus, though.

It looks like it's one of those that normally hangs from the mirror, but it's not up there now. Yeah, those pics are directly off of my phone.

It's disgusting that someone would vandalize a handicapped persons car like that when they obviously need a car to get around, and aren't just damaging the environment by driving around for no reason.

See, this is why all hippies should be sent to gulags and forced to make engines.

I pity the foo who I catch doing that sort of thing.

Thanks. After reading your post I stared at the image and see the sky and what might be a large beige building reflected and now it makes sense to me. Never saw anything that looked quite like that before without it being a result of PS.

How is using an aerosol spray paint on a handicapped person's car going to save the planet?

Gotta spend money to make money. Or in this case, quality of environment.

I just rode by it again. There is a city handicapped pass that's visible, and a campus one currently hanging from the mirror. I can't think of a good reason for this to have happened...

It was probably a targeted attack directed at the owner of the car and not just some random person.

Maybe the owner was a big hypocrite about stuff like that or something.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

That is called "vandalism" and it's a Bad Thing. It is not "striking a blow for Mother Earth" (even non-CFC propellants are not great for the air), it's striking a blow against someone's property. It is no different from smashing windows or bashing in the door.

Definitely possible. And I would hope that would be the case. Maybe, just maybe, the owner of the car is the type of person who has fake handicapped passes in his/her car?

I don't know, I'm just hoping its something like that, because if its just some random handicapped person's car, the offender is going straight to hell.

Why the hell would they vandalize a freakin' car that gets good MPG?!

****ing dueschebags. I wouldn't be suprised if it was done by an H2 owner who's trying to make environmentalists look stupid. Doofy, where were you when this incident happened?

Plus getting that removed/repainted is going to use a lot more nasty chemicals and paints, thus furthering pollution. What a freakin retard.....

I can never figure out that spelling, because searching the internet for dueschebags= tons of people using it, and google doesn't suggest anything, so I just use that one. Seems like a word with lots of different spellings.

That's pretty shitty. Maybe it wasn't spray painted in that location? Maybe they were triple-parked in the handicap spot? Or maybe he/she parked in front of a hydrant and this is the work of a disgruntled firefighter?

After looking at the car I was thinking the same thing (even if it's a v6), this was probably someone trying to make an environmentalist look bad...maybe the owner (considering most insurance covers that).

My roommate read the police report and apparently several people that had cars parked along the street or in open garages in a certain area of town got hit. They suspect drunk people.

We've had little "miscreants" "tagging" our neighborhood lately. I want to sit out overnight with night vision goggles and a paintball gun cranked "a little" over the competition velocity and catch these misguided young people at their inconsiderate behavior. My wife is an advocate for rocksalt in a 12 gage, and I admit that her position has a lot going for it.

People who vandalize are demonstrating that they have no respect for the property of others, and thus no respect for other people. Therefor I have no respect for them and wish them every bad consequence of their actions.

Compromise. Throw some gobstoppers in the paintball gun. They're a perfect fit. And they don't splatter. Just don't aim for the face, and you'll cause no permanent damage, but MAN will they never do that again.

This happened to me in front of my own home. Some idiot spray painted " I heart so and so" on my hood and then left a line of paint down the driver's side of my care. I was able to get it buffed out at a local care detailing place... My car is a gas guzzler with a whopping 2liter, 4 cylinder engine..not sure of the motivation for defacing it..

Evry wurd has lotz of difarunt spelings if you account for ignorance.

Look up "douche" in the OS X Dictionary.app. (I.e. hover your cursor over the word and hit Ctrl-Cmd-D) It's a French word.

As a hippy, I would like to make a distinction. The person/people who did this are not hippies. They are activists. The two are easily confused by the commoner, but to the hippy the activist is well known and often despised. The activist is someone who is a major conspiracy theorist, covers their face then a camera is in the area and has no problem with acts of destruction.

The hippy is someone who spends a lot of time in the forest, listening to Grateful Dead and smoking various herbage. They are not known for acts of political statement or destruction.

In my own experience with activist, they are a bit reckless, paranoid, annoying and don't think through their actions. This is not to say hippies always think through their actions, but they aren't destructive.

"dueschebag" is the German, except now they use the Euro. ;-)
