Well, it's time to spill the beans - I was filmed for a documentary yesterday. The film is called "Second Skin", a doc about MMO players, but this is NOT a "Trekkies"-type film. This is a respectful look at the people that play MMORPGs.
Why me? Some of you know that I've been doing a podcast about WoW for almost two years. We were selected because of our knowledge of the game and the popularity of the show.
It was a wonderful experience. My co-host Renata and I have never met so they got that on film. Just wow.
The doc is slated for Sundance and HBO.

I played WoW from release until just 5 months ago. It wasn't easy quitting, but I knew I was spending too much time on the game. At one time all 3 of us were raiding 4-5 nights /week and we got burned out by the time our guild was half way through Black Temple. Kim still plays but she doesn't raid anymore, mostly she just farms and levels alts.

Damn, Shadd! That sounds pretty much like what I went through. I began playing WoW from beta, and finally pried myself away from it last year when I met my new wifey. Actually, I got her interested in it, but we decided to put that $30 towards our bills for a while. With 5 kids between the two of us from previous marriages, you kind of need every penny!
...that is, until I get a new Mac! Then we're going to fire it up again. It's a great "couples" pastime.
