I've always thought I wasn't. I'm not religious either.

I've had some very good breaks over last few years, and life has been very good in almost every way... Almost too good.

So this morning I suddenly started worrying that this can't go on and something bad is going to happen. I've had this thought all day and can not shake it.

Anybody else think like this? This is silly superstition, right?

It's the caffeine or your testicle produced chemicals doing that to you. Or you're not happy with your salary.

You're reacting to the approach of April. The superstitious "15"th day, to be specific. Remember, they really are out to get you. Or your money anyway.

I think like that before taking tests, I do things the night before (like I dont study in the library) taking the tests hoping the end result would be good...which only happens half the time.

It's not necessarily superstitious, per se, to believe something will probably go wrong. It would be more superstitious to believe everything will definitely all go well forever after.

OK, the day's almost over and I'm feeling a little better. So far, a giant rock has not smashed the planet, so I think it was just the coffee.

Hope all you are having a good day.

No, its absolutely true. If you've had a pure stream of good luck.. it will end. Of course you probably haven't. You've probably just overlooked/ignored/moved past all the bad stuff and focused on all the good.

If there is a grand cosmic balance its, well, balanced.

It's not that the good stuff won't go on -- but maybe you realized that there is possibility that things could suddenly change and be bad for awhile -- and so you should appreciate what you have now. Don't focus on the bad stuff unless/until it happens and if things do go south--it wont stay that way.

I think that's a common feeling. I get it too. Try to put your mind on something else.

I think that balance must be relative. As I said, I don't believe in luck, but I also don't think life turns out equally for all people. Some things are beyond our control. I could have been born in a third world country with a birth defect and under constant threat from war, disease and poverty... but I wasn't.

At the same time, I'm sure some people would look at my life and say "pity." It may be that what I consider good fortune isn't so great.

I think you are to some extent right about overlooking and ignoring bad stuff. That is part of my personality. And that in itself is good fortune! Maybe that is the secret to good luck.
