Last plane [c], 90 weight, 70 elevators, winglets on. I throw it about 75% all of the way back and around the level of the guy's ears.

Too much weight. Adjust your angle of release to compensate.

Yes, winglets are good. I started by throwing overhand (like an arrow) and reached about 46m. Then I started trying underhand and that took me slightly further.

My magic throw is actually this construction :
airplane 3.
0 weight.
28 elevators.
winglets yes.
throw towards the floor so it ascends rapidly

this is my top result

Mine was 0/30/Yes when I got 48.9, so I imagine its all finesse and luck from 48.7 out.
