It might help if you indicated what sorts of subject matter would make for acceptable research as per the requirements of this assignment?

Well, since this is in the context of your education, first of all:

Can anyone send me there HS research paper as something to look at and get some ideas from! It would be very helpful!
This should read:

Can anyone send me their HS research paper? This would be very helpful
Note the question mark and the correct "their".

Some punctuation here might help:

The class is Global Studies so child soldiers ETC.
The class is Global Studies, so child soldiers, etc. would work

Maybe this would work better if you gave us a clue as to what sorts of subjects you are interested in? This way, we can give you some ideas as to what you might want to research within this selected area.

Do you understand what plagiarism is? You know not to lift things that you haven't written yourself at verbatim without proper attribution, right? Were you planning on just taking somebody else's research paper, tweaking it, and calling it yours? Not only is this plagiarism, but this would also be cheating.

Plagiarism WILL get you into trouble. In 10 grade it'll get you a failing grade. In college it'll get you expelled (and goodbye to thousands of dollars in tuition and fees, too).

A "basic guide to writing a research paper" is something you could just search for. In fact "basic research paper" gets "about 108,000,000" hits on Google. Then do your own research (there are helpful hints for finding good research sources in those Google hits too) and write your own paper.

The last "creative" paper I wrote was for a computer science course. I wrote about "intelligent computers in science fiction." It was fun (all my sources were books on my shelves) and since I made a point using these sources, I got a very nice grade. You try differentiating between HAL 9000 and The Terminator...

That paper was graded by a 7th grader (no pun intended).

One page 4 is says, "Page is to big".

That's too big.

Plus, the handwriting is terrible. I give the teacher a D-.

Hey kid! I did my 10th grade final paper 35 years ago. You may be amazed at this but I did it ALL BY MYSELF. Got a good grade and scored a 99 (one spelling error) on the NYS Social Studies Regents exam.

Try spending more time working on your project and less time on this forum. It will be good for you...... I promise.

Apart from the rear one, it really doesn't look too bad. They crumpled and dispersed the energy, slowing the acceleration and shocks to the passenger compartment. If those were all trucks, the trucks wouldn't be damaged as much, but there would be much higher shock forces in the passenger compartments, and you'd suffer more neck injuries/brain injuries than a car.

I think what I mean to say it, I would much rather be in the big truck than in the tin can car cause while the cars were getting smashed and disintegrated the big truck remained relatively intact.

I prefer to remain intact.

I guess someone was reading the description which said there were five compacts, when in fact there were six.

Love the third comment down:

When everyone else on the road is driving a tank there really is only one thing to do- also get a tank.

This is why I love my 93 Ford Explorer. Even tho I only drive it about once every two weeks (and then to go to the Co-Op for food shopping which is only a half mile away) I feel safe in my tank.

Why? Should we also wear bulletproof vests all the time since so many people own guns?

Oddly enough, when I was volunteering in the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Katrina this guy gave me a bullet proof vest. It even has these slots for metal sheets. So, yes, I wear it now. And a riot helmet.

Once every two weeks, when I get into my 93 Ford Explorer Tank. I slip into my bullet proof vest and riot helmet and drive the 1/2 mile to the hippy co-op where I do all my food shopping. I buy only organic veggies and pasta, as well as the other things I need. I am a co-owner of the co-op and I like to be involved in supporting it. I take off these protective items before I walk in, just so I dont freak people out. I make sure to wear an old Grateful Dead t-shirt just to blend in.

Grading a bunch of papers that require a bunch of notes is challenging work, and teachers get tired. Some of my professors have pretty lousy handwriting and they are certainly NOT 7th graders! I'm thinking that whoever graded this stuff did so LATE and after a lot of other papers. And the handwriting, spelling and wording are MUCH better than that in the paper.

Interestingly enough, if you carry a bulletproof vest in the back of your Jeep, it never gets broken into (at least here in Blighty, where a vest means you're either SO19 or a complete nutjob). Crim figures that it's too much hot water for him to bother, so he doesn't.

Sorry, I don't care if it is 8:00 PM or 4:00 AM, any English teacher should know the difference between to and too - period.

Put two children's booster seats in a 2-door Cavalier.

I don't even know if the locks work as I haven't used them yet.

Pop quiz: Do most car accidents involve semis running into parked vehicles at high speeds? Or do they involve cars bumping into each other, rear ending each other, and smacking each other?

Stiff frames TAKE lives, not save them, which is one of the reasons SUVs and Trucks have a much higher deathrate than passenger cars.

While the studies probably disagree with me on this, my experience as an EMT on an ambulance leads me to believe that people in cars with crumple zones die much more often than people in sturdy vehicles. Crumple zones means that the car crushes you and you end up being mangled. It's not a pretty scene, I assure you. Not pretty at all. The person in the big SUV usually is standing on the side of the highway. Looking. And glad he wasn't in the crumple zone car.

Actually, that should be "his or her" rather than "their", since "their" is plural while "anyone" is singular.

No, crumple zones mean certain areas of the car like the trunk and the engine compartment are designed to crumple leaving the passenger compartment untouched. With enough force, of course, the passenger compartment is in trouble though.

And "their" agrees with "anyone", which also implies more than one person.

I think you're misunderstanding what a crumple zone is. A crumple 'zone' is an area of hte car that crumples, which disperses energy, and lessens shocks and jolts to the passenger compartment. A safe car has a very RIGID passenger cell, that keeps things from entering it or distorting it, but the sections of the car beyond this, like hte engine compartment and trunk, are designed to crumple and slow down the impact, while keeping the passenger cell very safe, without intrusions. Here's a good example, the stiffness of a taurus vs a ford ranger, both of the front subframe, or front section of the frame:

Note how stiff the ranger is. This means you're more deadly to anybody else on the road, and you're endangering yourself.

And yes, statistics would disagree with you completley. LTV= light truck or SUV

Furthermore, any benefit that you still believe in from having a stiff frame (which is against the real world and statistics) is offset by this:

and this:
