to be fair, on his renewal page he said he's getting a new tshirt vendor, so maybe that was part of the problem.

(that comment is gone now that the new shirt design is posted)

But he's left some people for 8 months with not even an email reply. You can't defend that.

Jees, it's a free T-Shirt. It's not like you paid money for it.

No actually you pay extra for the shirt - member ship is $19, with shirt it's $29. I've amended the blog to correct my error.

Anyway it's the principle that's the problem here, he slates other people every week, but offers a lousy service himself. THAT is the issue here.

He's one guy printing up a bunch of t-shirts and shipping them himself. He recognized that it was getting out of hand, issued an apology and hired a company to do it faster. I don't see the need for drama.

Ignoring other people for 8 months is 'issuing an apology' ?

What I don't understand is, if you think he's a "jackass" and a "slimeball" and whatnot, why do you want to wear a t-shirt advertising his site?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

It's the principle and his hypocrisy. I won't be wearing the shirt, probably because it will never arrive

Good question. I'm kind of confused about these people's feelings. And who is that excited about a Daring Fireball t-shirt, anyway? Like, I like the blog, but the brand isn't exactly the next Juicy.

The one angle of this I support is:

Gruber doesn't deserve to be called a "Jackass" for being a lousy t-shirt vendor. But neither do most of the people he labels "Jackass" all the time.
