I'm interested in Ducati motorcycles. Does anyone here ride one? If so, which one and how do you like it? I've owned only Yamaha bikes and I'm looking for a change.

I just took a ducati after a mushroom and cheese pizza.

Nope. Ducks are a bit showy for me. "Look at me! I'm on a due-CAH-ti!" Nice enough rockets tho. Fast and very nice sounding. The new 1098 is very pretty, and Tamburini's 916 design was gorgeous. The Terblache designed 999 of the past few years was stunningly ugly. The Monster has always been nice enough looking, but I'd get a Speed Trip or a Tuono first. Just my opinion
I'm thinking my next sled will be a KTM RC8 or a Speed Trip.

Just buy a kawasaki and put ducati decals on it, and see how that goes for a while first.

Ducatis sound awesome, and generally look really cool.

I just can't help but think that the guy riding it is probably a jackass of a man with overly conditioned hair and lame sneakers.

Let me first say that I know absolutely nothing about motorcycles, but I saw many Ducatis while I was camping in Malibu Creek State Park last weekend. So very nice. Perfect for going up those steep and narrow roads up those hills.

I know nothing about them - even what the common image is about the riders. It's kind of nice looking at something without preconceived stereotypes.

I also know nothing about motorcycles, but I was reading a review of a new Ducati cafe racer while I was getting my haircut. They liked it, and I thought it looked really cool. Apparently, though, the 'cafe racer' bikes aren't made for anything more than short rides. Hence, not too comfortable.

I haven't been following the Ducs for more than a year... but last I heard, they were notorious for their electrical problems and finicky construction, but their overall performance is usually stellar.

Personally, I've always been a fan of the Moto Guzzi's, but they are, let's say... an acquired taste.

Acquired taste perhaps (never ridden one myself), but I've always thought that the Griso is a very pretty bike.

It took me a few minutes to realize there was a bike in that pic.

And her arms are freakishly long. I wonder if her legs are the same.

sorry if i came of as harsh, its just i don't see the point.

if you want to go fast and be all crazy thats fine, but theres a time and a place for that.

But the guys that own sport bikes on campus all love going around campus in first gear near red line with their fancy exhauts.

I am more of the view of practicality, more sensible get from point a to point b.

Also for one year insurance for those beasts, i keep my bike on the road filled with gas and regular maintance for the next 10 years, so whats the point?

I have a Ducati Multistrada (1000), it's comfy but not really superbike fast like a 1098. So far I haven't had any problems with it but here in Italy there are plenty of Ducati dealers!

I owned a NEW 1970 450 Ducati Street Scrambler overseas for about 2 years while overseas. I bought the hi-rise pipe, and used it in the dirt. It had enuff lowend torque to pull tree stumps and climb steep hills in third. I did have to drop it down to 2nd when I was challenged to a hill climb with a passenger. We won't discuss the "young, stupid and invincible" factor. We touched 130mph across the desert on narrow concrete roads at 3/4 throttle. The low, steady "thump, thump, thump" of the Ducati was alot more "rewarding" then the high-pitched "ring-a-ding" of the asian imports. Lots of good memories.
