Nah, I have a life so cartoons don't interest me. In a couple of years I'll have to start sitting through them but for now my kids are too young for most cartoons.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that this cartoon isn't intended for kids under 18, so you're all set anyhow. 16?

No argument there, while I have not seen this show, I can pretty much guess its not for the toddler set.

Is there some kind of difference between cartoons and regular live-action tv I'm missing?

Not as excited as I probably should be. I'm of the school of thought that thinks the show has gone WAY downhill the last few years.

I don't have a lot of confidence in the movie at this point.

Understandably so.

I take heart in the fact that I've seen a lot Dr. Weird, though.

Yeah, it has slipped down the hill. That's why I won't go rushing out to see this.
(unless it receives incredible reviews)

Seasons 1 and 2 were prime tho...

Ahh let me explain, I suppose watching cartoons has atrophied some brain cells. I understand that not all cartoons are for kids, yet I've outgrew the desire to watch them in general.

So if they were live-action with the same content, you'd watch 'em?

At one point there is a live chicken on fire, running around the room like, well, a chicken on fire, and that's when I thought: They have no idea what they're doing here.
From Rotten Tomatoes.

Ok, now I'm interested!

A massive collection of absurdist non sequiturs and deadpan pauses, which, depending on your tastes (and possibly your affinity for mind-altering drugs), are either the stuff of comic genius or proof that the world has stopped making sense entirely.
Nice.

Actually, that pretty much describes half the adult swim line-up.

Adult Swim use to have many better shows. Now it is full of a lot of crap that is just silly. And they keep rotating new crap in to replace the same crap that did not work before. Make a Venture Brothers movie… that would turn out great.

Apparently the worse it's animated the "better" it is.
Frisky Dingo is another show that was on Adult Swim that I thought was brilliant. I caught the odd few episodes now and then on Adult Swim. I ended up buying the season off iTunes and watched all the episodes. It's great. Well worth the $14.99.

A Venture Bros. movie would be awesome.

I loved 12 oz. Mouse. Had to watch the whole season to understand what the eff was going on though. Such a retarded show. I loved it. Metalocalypse is awesome too. Robot Chicken of course, ATHF I still like as well. I'll stop in to a theater in the next couple of days.

Well, I think it's good and worth seeing if you're a fan of ATHF. It's pretty much a 1hr 27min long version of a television episode. The "Cut You Up With A Linoleum Knife" skit, shown before the movie, was friggin' hilarious!

The movie was pretty cool. I don't think it made too much sense, but there were some hilarious parts.

mc chris was in Tampa last night, so we went to his show and then everyone from the show went to see the movie with him. By with him I mean everyone sat in the same theatre as mc chris and the other members of the bands that played last night.

Saw it yesterday and it was pretty good. Makes me appreciate their 11 minute episodes, though. I was wanting it over with at about an hour.

The star wipes along with the hushed "star" and "wipe" really freaked us out, though, if you know what I mean.

I saw it yesterday. I was a bit disappointed. I like the show, but I don't think it really translated well to a 90 min feature film. I think the problem was, for me, that there was just too much time. With that much time to work with, the writers were able to take their jokes too far. Part of the appeal of the show, I think, is that, while extremely absurd and a bit disturbing, they only hint at the fact that 'in real life' it goes much further. In the movie they were able to actually show the 'real life' of it, and it was just too much. The opening, with the singing, was ****ing hilarious, however. That right there was worth the $8 ticket.

[Edit: It would have been much, much better if it had contained more Boxy Brown, Duke of New York, A #1.]

I would be all over a Frisky Dingo or Venture Bros. film.

GO TEAM VENTURE!
