I've been trying for ages.

Its the right #0 Phillips screw on my iBook's DC-in board. I have destroyed 2 screwdrivers trying to do this, and now I am using a flathead.

I try with all my might, but the screwdriver just turns over and my hands hurt.

Any tips?

If not, I'll just have to live with a 30gb hard drive.

Get a sharp #0 phillips, and press in down hard in the screw head. Perhaps use a small needlenose pliers to rotate the driver while pushing the driver with your other hand.

pliers. or if you're really desperate, drill it, but make sure you get all the shavings.

My brother ran into that on our granddad's '64 Crown Imperial when putting wheels on it for towing. Luckily he didn't snap or strip any lug bolts before a fuzzy memory surfaced. They were only on the driver's (passenger's...?) side, though.

I know I’ve made my Joke for the Thread already, but I just have to do this one as well—I promise I’ll skip a joke in the next thread!

I can't unscrew this screw.

Get an impact driver. It's a metal thing that you hit with a hammer, and it turns like 1/4 of a turn with each hit. They're freaking awesome. Not sure if they make htem that small though.

What's the difference between a pregnant girlfriend and a lightbulb?

Going by the title, I’d have to guess something along the lines of, “The lightbulb can be unscrewed again”?

I've actually found that using a Torx screwdriver is the best. They are a LITTLE finer, almost like a jeweler's screwdriver, and they worked. I remember upgrading our iBook from 30 to 80 gigs and it was a b^tch. Never do it again. Halfway through I was ready to throw it up on ebay as a giveaway. Then I used a Torx and it worked perfectly.

Happened to me once trying to get a thermostat out of my car. 3 easy-outs, 2 drill bits, and 2 auto mechanics later and it came out just fine.

I don't really see what your problem is.
Do you want forgiveness or respect?
