Twitter is basically a standalone version of Facebook's status. Which is why I find it useless.

Usually I really don't care for what people are doing at any given moment.

It's like aim, but you can post badges on myspace/facebook. etc. and send/receive notification by TXT.

Only applicable for RL friends, IMO.

I find twitter paradoxical. If I'm doing something, I would forget to update it. If I'm doing nothing, there's nothing of worth to update it with.

I think I would get a Twitter account and then put my status as "updating Twitter" and leave it as such. After all, if you are doing something, you have no time to tell people on Twitter that you are DOING it...

Well if you're someone on AIM all the time you could update twitter when you update AIM... but who want to do that either.

I think with the TXTing you're supposed to send updates during down-moments.

I think only appeals to the über-nerd.

I have an account but I think I've updated it once and then realized the same thing as Dakar. If I'm bored enough to actually update it then nothing interesting is on the internet for me, so I'll go watch TV or something else.

I use it, mainly for the sake of using Twitterrific, which will simultaneously update AIM, Skype, and Twitter status messages. A Javascript also displays the most recent Twitter status on my home page. Now if only I had time to put together a script to update my Facebook status from Twitter, then... then... then what, exactly?
