So, I used to be a BIG fan of digg, but lately the headlines and descriptions have been mired in sensationalism that I don't find it appealing anymore. Not to mention the fact that (IMO) about 25-30% of the headlines are from people that didn't even READ the article.

I never really found it worth going to, unless there's an interesting link brought to my attention. Besides, I'm a /. guy.

Digg and Adsense made the quality and reliability of independent news sites and stories go downhill.

In the beginning I liked it, but lately it just seems to be regurgitated links to other articles. Lately they don't even change the headings. If digg was my only RSS feed it might work, but only around 10% of the stuff I read on digg isn't found on ars, engadget, gizmodo, or some other news blog.

Add the fact that the comments seem to be made by 12 year olds, digg kinda sucks lately.

I find the commenters to be kind of young and obnoxious, but I still visit it daily for the headlines.

Same here. The sensationalism is getting out of hand.

I don't digg it, never did, never really saw the need or utility of it.
Every post I've seen regarding any given digg article, I've already seen somewhere on the web or heard about it some how.

It's been getting worse. The phone calls, the pounding on my door at 3am while extremely intoxicated. I'm about to get restraining order against her.

One thing about digg (Atomic Rooster: Digg / News) that I never got into was digging things. I only ever read items that made it to the front page, so I didn't see the need to digg it anymore.

Google and Digg are not the same thing nor do they fulfill the same purpose. I fail to see the comparison.

Unless for some reason RR is acting like stating not having heard of something is akin to asking what said something is. Which it isn't.

Regardless of content, I find that the Digg Effect renders it almost useless. Digg is supposed to be a way to find the most interesting stuff on the 'Net, but all it does is crash their sites.

Perhaps I'm missing the joke here, but did you intend to use foot marks instead of inches?

Nah, more like "I understand basic principles of search engines and he doesn't". And as he has a past history of harassing me I found no need to help him out. Reap/sow.
