last night was the first time i was actually able to sleep with the window open without freezing, so i did so. usually with the window closed, things are muffled enough outside so they don't wake me up.
at 6:30 this morning some kind of very loud backfire of a car happened, or it was motorcycles (for whatever reason there have been a ton of them around here lately) and it woke me up. I know 6:30 doesn't sound to early to some of ya'll but for me it's very early, esp. on a school day. Bad thing about me is, when I get woken up by something I usually can't get back to sleep, so now I'm up with almost nothing to do until class at 11.

that is all

Better than being woken up by cats in heat outside your bedroom window all night long

They were doing work on the street all last week. It was shaking my entire house starting at 7 am. It was barely quiet enough to watch tv when I got home from work till 8-9pm

I'm the weird one. I was at school this morning by 6:30am. That way I can work in my studio till class at 11. Grad school ends in 5 class days....holy crap.

you wouldn't believe how early some students here get up to line up for ensemble rooms, or recording studio space. when i was living in the building with the main studios (dorm rooms 3rd floor to 6th, studios, sound rooms, some classrooms ect underneath) when I couldn't sleep, i use to just walk around (some pretty cool 'hidden' areas) and sometimes at like 4:30 5:00 in the morning kids would be either lined up, or sleeping in front of the room sign up spot.

They've been jackhammering the street right outside my window for the last week or so, starting at 7:00 a.m., so beat that!

6:30 am, I'm already on my way to work at that point. It seems I usually wake up around 5:00am, but on the weekends, I get to sleep in...

6:30 am? You've already wasted some of the best part of the day. Get your butt out of bed and enjoy the morning.

Having had babies in the house for the last 3.5 years, I always ponder who the idiot is that coined the phrase "slept like a baby".

To me, "sleeping like a baby" entails waking up every 3 hours, crying for no reason, and not stopping until I have had my underwear changed, I was fed, and then promptly burped.

Sleeping like a baby means, kids until (not sure what age) go into Delta sleep and nothing, I mean nothing no sound at all can wake them up. This is why when you have young kids you should have a kids smoke detector as the normal sound of a smoke detector won't budge them (I know I slept through our burglar alarm being set off by my cousin when I was young).
