They had to dig up Elvis and clean him up a bit, and make-up did a fine job too.

It's funny how the CGI Elvis had a better stage presence than Celine Dion.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

OK, the horrors and tastelessness of this aside. Was Elvis digitally added later? Or was there some other trickery involved? The YouTube claims it's a "hologram". I don't know what they have been smoking while watching Star Wars, but such technology doesn't exist yet. Best one we can do still is the smoke-and-mirrors that enabled Gorillaz to appear on stage.

How did this appear to the audience?

My wife is a major Celine fan.
Wish I'd known that before we tied the knot.

Funny, it’s more the other way around for me.

No, scratch that: they both kind of annoy me.

Seems to me they had Coke commercials back some years with dead people in them.

Prolly in 10 years they'll have movies starring dead people (no not Zombies) and living actors will be out of a job. Heh.

Awnold with Grace Kelly. Naw, I don't think so.

Too "creepatastic".

There's always divorce court.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Didn't they already do that with Marlon Brando in Superman Returns?

If anything they should have projected Elvis rolling over in his grave.

This kind of reminds me of that old SNL sketch "Natalie King Cole sings with all her Dad's old friends"

The scary thing about this is what will happen with the money and rights? My expectation is that the studios will now own the persona, and just rake it in.

I thought the best job they could have done would have been to not do that kind of cheese at all.

That video just reinforces what I already knew:

Celine dion sucks and so did Elvis.

I heard her duet with The Who didn't work out so well when Pete Townsend smashed his guitar over her head...

...wait, it worked out perfectly.
"You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction
with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. From out there on the
moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the
neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, 'Look at that, you son of a bitch.'"

Elvis wasn't the problem in that duet. Even as a fake digital projection he looked and sounded better than that decrepit monkey skeleton standing next to him.
