Ok, this has been bugging me for days.

A guy runs to a pair of elevators on either side of him. He presses the button for one, then the other, stands in between them with his arms outstretched and his knees bent waiting for one or the other to open. DING! He runs to the first one.

What is this?

Would it be too cliche if I suggested The Secret Garden or Babel?

"Everything's so clear to me now: I'm the keeper of the cheese and you're the lemon merchant. Get it? And he knows it.
That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."

Best elevator scene is in Eraser Head. The timing is excruciating.

I think that it's: "Death Lift 4: Destructovator's Revenge: Mail Room Apocalypse Edition."

That's a common misconception people have if they haven't seen the "Death Lift" series. It's actually Bollywood.

Not sure if you are referring to the same movie...

But Splash with Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah has that scene... He's basically waiting for the first elevator on either side of the hall to open...

I think that's it. I was thinking it was Steve Martin or Tom Hanks.

The scene from Being John Malkovich is a contender for that top spot if you ask me.

The movie is with John Cusack and is called Serendipity.

This guy sees a woman he loved and is running after her and is trying to get to the first elevator before she leaves.
