I'm not sure either; as a matter of fact, I'm positive I don't.

He's got a big-ass high-rez display and some kickass HD-DVD movies to play on it?

Close. I have been waiting for the Matrix movies as well as the Pirates movies to come out on a HD format and today is the day. I actually just snapped the picture since they were on my desk, I watch them in my living room.

Alright well apparently none of you are home theater enthusiasts but watching some of my favorite movies in almost flawless quality on a system that reaches ~18hz with authority is like seeing them for the first time.
One great scene is in Revolutions when the sentinels are invading Zion and throughout most of the scene there is a varying rumble below 20hz so you don't even hear it you simply experience the tactile feedback of all the machinery.

VHS and DVD are good enough for me. And the sounds straight from my TV are just great also.
But I am glad for you that you got these since you enjoy them. Isn't Pirates exclusively on Blu-Ray and and Matrix on HD-DVD? You have both players in your living room?

I think Matrix may be on both.

I hear ya, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The only reason I mentioned that is because some people failed to understand why I personally was excited.
You are correct they are both exclusive to each format as of right now. I am a huge movie buff as well as a home theater enthusiast which is why I support both formats because when it comes to some of my favorite movies being available in HD I don't want to be left in the dark.

Did you buy them from Circuit City? I went to C.C. this morning for both PoTC releases and noticed that there were 2 copies left for each one, then I grabbed both and received a $15 C.C. gift card.
Matrix on HD should be good.. but I pretty much memorize all the details from the first one.

I bought them at Best Buy since I had $25 in rewards zone bucks. Managed to get the last box set of the Matrix HD DVDs but there were roughly 30 copies of the two PotC movies.
If you enjoy the Matrix movies I cannot recommend enough picking them up when they are released on Blu-ray. The image and sound quality difference is night and day.
