So... what's the deal? Grass that was laid down and will be taken up? Why? If this is an environmental statement, it's weird.

It's odd that they aren't around in the picture. They must be somewhere, unless he did actually have them shot.

I believe he hired a bird of prey to intimidate them. With a little hawk-sized nazi cap on and a little clipboard under wing.

They should lay down AstroTurf and leave it there permanently. I think it looks so much nicer with grass there.

It looks much better that way. I don't know why they want to remove it after two days.

What's with those people in the middle? Are they line dancing, or is that some British thing?

Silly walks class, perhaps?

Looks like a bunch of hippies doing Tai Chi.

A bunch of hippies paid by Red Ken to do Tai Chi so he can get teh media there and say "wow, London is so lovely you can do Tai Chi on Trafalgar Common".

Ken Livingstone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Livingstone has strong left-wing views, which caused him to be nicknamed "Red Ken", particularly in the 1980s and by Private Eye magazine. He is a member of the Labour Party, but was initially elected to the mayoralty as an Independent candidate when he could not gain the Labour Party's nomination in the first mayoral elections. In January 2004, he was re-admitted to the party and stood as the official Labour Party candidate for mayor in the June 2004 elections, which he won with a total of 828,380 first and second preference votes.

There's an artist in Paris (Patrick Blanc) who does vertical gardens. They should have got him to cover the surrounding structures in plants like this:

an old lefty that londoners voted for in the 80s to annoy thatch, and in the 90s to annoy blair.
to the extent that the former abolished his local authority, and the latter tried to kick him out of the labour party.

i don't know many londoners who actually agree with most of ken's views. but he's great for annoying even bigger arseholes.

you forgot to say he likes to travel but likes to stop Londoners from traveling and employ people to head our traveling system but then lay them off cause they have a drink problem but still pay them full wages.
