I think it would be interesting to plug one at the computer center at school and see how many people would push the button.
By the way, this was posted somewhere here many months ago.

I thought I recognized it. Still, I think I would get one and hook it up at school.

Except someone would likely assume it is some kind of bomb and call the police.

As from the last time we looked at this, it had 2 problems.
1) It's too small
2) It's not powered.

It would NOT be a good idea to take to school. Someone WILL take it wrong and then YOU will have a nice long talk with gentlemen in suits that don't fit very well... Really, this is not something you want to do.

Where is the other thread? I tried to do a search for USB HUB and the search engine would not work. I suppose I could try Google "USB HUB macnn". I'd have better luck.

We have USB powered rocket launchers... it would be taken as a joke, don't worry. The IT guy and I bring in lots of wierd USB stuff (last was sushi flash drives). They aren't out in the main school... they are in the IT lab.

"In the lab" is quite different from "at school." You had me worried there-I thought I'd see some disturbing headlines next week.

I convinced a friend to buy a usb lava lamp shortly after he converted to mac (12" PB). The next time he was on a plane flying somewhere he took out the PB and plugged in the lava lamp and convinced the person next to him that the crystals powered his computer or something like that.
