That makes the Safari on Windows statement make sense - they're trying to take the browser market by making same site work on all platforms with same code.

I don't know about brushed metal, but Safari on Windows does make some sense. As a previous poster said it indicates Cocoa for Windows is back at least in some form, which could be important for developers. It will make it easier for designers to create iPhone friendly sites, two. It will add some percentage of new Safari users - more users equals more support, three. It may also spur the development team to work more in order to improve Safari's market share. This is a good thing.

Those of you who were hoping for hardware announcements should realize that Apple doesn't do that at conferences anymore unless there's a significant change to announce. It made people hold off on purchasing based calendar expectations.
