» Vista Ultimate users want their value-add | All about Microsoft | ZDNet.com

Heh. So people are paying $400 for Vista Ultimate on a promise that Microsoft will offer Vista Ultimate only downloads and add-ons to enhance the OS; add-ons Microsoft promised in January. Now the development team that was supposed to be working on (and releasing) the add-ons have been disbanded and Microsoft has kept quiet when confronted with the issue.

I'm gonna stick with my $129 OS X Ultimate.

That's only an unconfirmed rumour so far.

And look who wrote the rumor. Our good friend Mary Jo Foley again.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

"I will kindly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today."

I'm not surprised at all. Rarely does Microsoft actually deliver 100% on a future promise.

I gave up on .Mac when it was no longer free, but not before I grabbed all the GarageBand Jam Packs for free.

Exactly. I think once they gave some icons for iChat but that was it even thought they promised exclusive content.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. She accused Apple of stealing the idea of Widgets from Vista's Gadgets.

They came from NeXT, but Konfabulator made it cool again.

Thank God for (legal) $0 Business Editions... Gotta love my university's deal with M$ sometimes.
