Where do you guys buy your clothes from? Do you shop online or go to the actual store? I'm going to need to get some clothes before college starts, but I don't want to spend a load of money at Hollister and Urban-Outfitters like I usually do. So where can I find some nice looking clothes, preferably the same style as Urban-Outfitters, for cheap?

American Eagle is relatively cheap. And there's always Gap, Old Navy, and the Salvation Army.

Thrift stores rule. I highly suspect that depends on the city/town you're in, but where I'm at the thrift stores have some pretty sweet stuff at the cheapest price you could ask for.

Where are you going to school? Most of the time there will be a good place to get cheap clothes near campus.

Old Navy is pretty cheap and their stuff is of decent quality (especially jeans which proved to be just as durable as Levis).

Nothing beats ZARA quality-price ratio over here, but this is after all ZARA's home country (Spain), it couldn't be much more expensive there in the USA though…

Mall department stores. If you're not looking for anything fancy, they usually seem to have it cheaper than the proper clothing stores.

I have my clothes made by tailors in Asian countries. A shirt is about €5,00, pants are likewise. If I have found a good fitting model I have it copied.

I havent been in Asia in 6 months, so I am quite desperate with my clothes. Recently I went out and bought a Pall Mall pair of pants, and a nice shirt because I didn't have anything clean to wear at a party. It costed me about 150€. I hope you understand I see the difference in price/quality and felt not too good about it.

edit : GAP is an expensive brand here in Europe. I don't like brands that much, (it's just a name on cheap quality clothes) before I had everything tailored I bought matinique and MEXX as they were always very fashionable and good quality. (black stayed black for a long time)

edit2 : I think I have grown fat because the tailored pants I liked so much don't fit me anymore. Instead of having the sizes made bigger I will have to loose weight this month

Oh, forgot, TJ Maxx and Kohls.
You can get some great bargains for brand name clothes.

Kohl's. They've got GREAT sales several times a year. I can usually find really nice stuff at 60-80% off retail.

If you end up shopping there a lot (I buy all my clothes there now), get a Kohl's credit card. You get extra coupons every month for 15, 20, or 30% off your purchase. I got the 30% one last month and saved myself like $200 on my bill. Target's okay when stuff goes on sale, but Kohl's is the absolute best.

I like TJ Maxx for shoes - it takes to long to sort through all the ugly ghetto clothes to find the good stuff, but they tend to sell a lot of Born shoes (which I wear constantly) at way under retail.
For all the trash I talk, I sure own a lot of Macs...

TJ Maxx has Børn? Nice.

If you've got one, Burlington Coat Factory has a surprisingly large array of clothing and even some nice brands for low prices.

And Burlington Coat Factory finally has a cash-back return policy! But yeah, they have good stuff.

I have found all but I think one pair of my Borns at TJ Maxx - Usually for $25-$35 a pair. I own like seven pairs now...best shoes ever.

Shif is right. I forgot about Kohl's. They usually have really good prices on everything. Swing by there if there's one in your area.

Damn. I've only had one pair that I got at a little specialty shoe store that was the only place that carried them where I went to school. They were great shoes, but way too expensive for me to really consider normally. I just assumed that was how much they cost.
