Staying power is true magic of Henson's 'Dark Crystal'

It'll be cool to see. I have the Dark Crystal and Labryinth on DVD. They are two of my favorite movies as a child.

Sounds like a good idea.. I have both films on DVD as well and I enjoy them very very much. I just think Frank Oz should direct the upcoming movie. After all he co-directed the original.

I hope it goes well!

I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

I remember as a kid I was scrared of the posters for the movie as I thought the main character looked like Michael Jackson:

it is an amzing movie though but it did scare me a bit even now as it is really dark and creepy.

heh. just showed Dark Crystal to my son for the first time, and the first time I'd seen it in oh... let's just say a long time. It was slow at first, and yes really scary in parts, but I really liked it by the end. Not sure when I'll show him Labyrinth.

I'm surprised to hear that the first one was not received well. Amongst people my age, (late 20s early 30s) it's considered a classic and is loved by seemingly everybody.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Very cool to hear that it's in production.
I found the original on DVD at Walmart for $9.99 a few months ago. Such a great movie.

Wonderful news!

I was SO scared by Dark Crystal (I was nine at the time), but loved it.

Right, but we need more.

Neverending Story is an epic movie and we need more of them. It's almost as epic as The Secret Garden.

God, I hated that kid.

And I still don't understand to this day why they didn't just stick to the book's story.

They only did some parts of the first half, and left out most anything that made it truly interesting and good, plus they disneyfied ALL the characters.
Yuck.

The only character that was perfect, though, was Fuchur - the Luck Dragon.

The Dark Crystal was one of the first movies I ever saw as a kid. I was in second grade. I don't remember anything about it.

I was a bit old for Dark Crystal, but it was a killer stoner flick when it came on HBO.

Now for a Krull sequel...

Heh, I know Brian Froud and went to Art College with his son Toby who plays the baby... I was gutted to discover that Toby never managed to pee in Bowie's glitzy face.

You remind me of the babe. What babe? The babe with the power. What power? Power of voodoo. Who do? You do. Do what? Remind me of the babe...
Oh yeees.
