In the red corner, Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend.
In the blue corner, The Rubinoos - I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend.
The Rubinhoos are saying she stole their song and used it in Girlfriend. Avril's 'people' are saying it isn't and have hired a 'musicologist', who has said that they are completely different and not the same at all, and that the song was a minor hit in 1979 and she was born in 1984 so what are the chances of her even knowing the Rubinoos song?
It goes to court on August 28th.
