CTV.ca | Rare condition gives toddler super strength

Amazingly strong, agile, almost a perfect physical specimen. On one hand, I feel bad since the kid will probably be studied most of his life. On the other, he may hold the key to developing ways to combat muscle diseases.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

The parents should make a bumper sticker that says "My Toddler Beat Up Your Highschooler."

I found him the perfect pet:

EDIT: I had only read the first paragraph of the story when I posted the dog pick. Oddly enough, the kid and the dog suffer from the same condition.

The condition promotes above-normal growth of the skeletal muscles; it doesn't affect the heart and has no known negative side effects, according to experts.
and then...
the condition has one potential drawback: Infants and toddlers need some body fat to feed brain growth and the development of the central nervous system.

Without adequate body fat, a child's growth can be stunted and the central nervous system can be impaired, said Dr. Erlund Larson, an internist at Hackley Hospital who is familiar with Liam's condition.
Seems like a negative side effect to me.

This thread is crazy cool. Why have these Myostatin abnormality cases only started popping up in the last number of years?

There have only been a couple of known cases. It's entirely possible that they've been around for a lot longer, but never at a place or time where anybody could diagnose myostatin-related hypertrophy. If some kid in the middle of Nowheresville, China is super-strong, well, he's just a good worker!

Holy crap re: the dog.

That's why he's gonna kill us. So we got to beat it. Yeah. Before he let's loose the marmosets on us."
