i have been wanting a 66 or 67 lincoln for a long time. to be honest though i know very little about fixing cars, i could change the oil and filter that's about it. Is a an old car like this easy to work on? what should i look for when buying an old car?

i was thinking of this one as a possibility

i want to keep it under 7500 preferably under 5k

I sold a car on ebay a few weeks ago. It went really, really well. It was a cash deal, i put up lots of pics and was entirely truthful about the condition of the car. We left each other positive feedback and all ended well.

item no longer listed..

first of all, you're watching too much Entourage. You think Turtle fixes the whip when it's busted? No.
and ummm a $5000 '66 Lincoln isn't gonna be too nice. My friend just got a '66 Caddy and it runs and drives, and looks good from ooh, 30+ feet away. He paid $6500. He plans extensive body work, paint and some engine work.

eBay car purchases are for people that know what's up. I've purchased on several occasions a bare shell of an automobile and built it up, turning every bolt on the car. Having done that, I don't know if I'd get a "66 Lincoln unless I knew I had the additional funds to replace broken parts (or parts that aren't broken yet but will break), and the time to invest in fixing it and making it run right.

Oh, and a $5000 nineteen-sixty-anything is going to need some body work. If it's rust free it's not gonna be priced like that.
