They were trying to sell their site several months ago. They had a link to a site that valued their site very expensive. I don't recall how much, but it was up there.

Rumor has it from MOSR that macosrumors.com is for sale, but there again, their trusted source is a cousin of a long-lost uncle who used to use an Apple II.

Yeah, I remember back when MacOSRumors was all we had.
Weird. The www is actually something I was around for in the beginning. I can remember telnetting into the local library before the www to put books on hold.

Yes I did. It was with AOL was it not? He was stealing cc numbers to basically pay for bandwidth? I can't remember the complete details but I do remember him spazzing out on IRC when it happened.
A lot of the reason the guy got flack was he attempted to be pretentious about the site. Instead of admitting it was just him running the site from his room in his parents house at the time he kept acting as if MacOSRumors had offices and a staff. This garnered him some poking fun at.
At one time he DID have some rumors up there that were legit. Then when worker bee was busted MOSR turned into nothing but a false gossip site that never got anything right.
