You know how when your watching a TV program and one of the characters mumbles something and you reach for the TiVo remote and back up so you can hear it again.
Have you ever been listening to someone giving a speech in real life and when you missed a word or two and you subconsciously want to reach for the remote to back it up so you can hear what it was that they said? That happened to me today. It was an awkward feeling. I couldn't find the remote.

Eventually we'll have some sort of timeshifting system that we can cybernetically implant into our brains. Hopefully they still won't have come up with a way to prevent us from fastforwarding through commercials at that point.

It's happened several times while listening to the radio, but this was the first time while listening to a real person.

I guess what we need are little 30 minute mind memory recorders. That way if we miss something, we can just back it up in our mind and watch it again.
Getting back in sync with the real world will be a pain.

Things I'm guilty of: Getting the remote ready to change the channel as a show I'm watching on DVD goes to commercial.

Yes, I have definitely found that happening to myself. Another thing, if I've been on the computer all day I have found myself thinking I can type Command - Z in certain situations.
OT- anyone know how to type the Command/Cloverleaf symbol?

You have to use the Character Palette from the Input Menu.

I can't tell you how many times i've said/done something then immediately said "Apple-Z, APPLE-Z!!!" afterwards.
More recently, since we started TiVoing, I find I try to rewind the radio if i miss something.

You can do that with satellite radio, Mrs. Larry.
