What is your favorite classic automobile? I think Ford styleside trucks from 1973-1979 are great.

My dad had a '62 Vette and sold it. Six months later it shows up in Vogue. He regretted selling it after that.

Of course but this one is in the category "non-affordable dream cars" just like so many others (like the Lamborghini Miura for example)!

edit: or this one (246 GT)

or this one (250GT Bertone)

I had to sell it last winter.

It was a great car.

Uh, actually, now that you say that:

2000GT!

Simply gorgeous. The only reason I don't like it more is that it's UBER expensive and more rare than a ferrari.

Really? More than the 68-70 mustangs? I don't understand why anybody digs the 71-74s, even though they're way better than the 75 onward stangs.

The Mustang switched to the Mustang 2 in 74. 73 was the last year of the great.

I prefer the 73, it was my favorite. I think I was somewhere around 15 when I found out that the body style was going to change. I was very dissapointed.

One odd piece of trivia, even though I hated the Mustang 2 so much, I read that it was one of the most popular sellers. I don't have a clue why, it sucked.

Someday, I'll buy me a 73 Mustang Mach I.

The problem is finding one of these cars that's 1) In reasonable shape, 2) Doesn't have cancer (rust).

These cars never were daily drivers (in spite of Magnum). The 30k maintainence is expensive.

That said: I'd love to have one. (I could tow it around with my Ram SRT-10).

I have this fantasy of one day owning one, but I am scared of the upkeep too. They are on eBay for $20K-$30K.
