I was surprised to find this page on the Mozilla site:
ColorSync in Mozilla
Also this:
What is your ColorSync doing in my Mozilla?- MozillaZine
I didn't know that the Colorsync API was available to Win32 developers, and I didn't know that Mozilla incorporates it. The second article is clear to state that ColorSync is not open source, but simply that ColorSync support is available to applications.
This is also nothing new, since this was announced in 1998. The current Mozilla page lists the Mozilla ColorSync support as in alpha stages. I don't know if this info is simply outdated or whether this was sort of abandoned in Mozilla, but...
So, if ColorSync is available to applications, why doesn't Adobe use it with their Windows applications if it really is superior to whatever is on Windows?
I'm sure others here know more about all of this. Like I said, this is simply something I stumbled across.
