Kind of... the gentleman who caught Barry Bonds' Record-Breaking* Home-Run Ball is a Mets fan from Queens!

SI.com - MLB - Historic home run ball retrieved by Mets fan - Wednesday August 8, 2007 2:48AM

* = remember when we were all complaining because we thought the balls were juiced? Such a quaint time.....

We needed someone with speed in the #2 slot. so he's working out for us just fine.

Although he had to come out of a game in Chicago due to "heat exhaustion". How does a player who grew up in the Dominican get heat exhaustion?

That's what the IRS will say, unfortunately, which is why he probably has to sell the ball this year in order to pay the taxes....

Don't be so sure, it's an open question. Of course, common sense would dictate that if the guy doesn't sell the ball, he shouldn't owe any tax. But when has the IRS made sense?

Can Bonds retire now and never show up in the media again? I'd rather have that gift than the ball.

Update: The gentleman from Queens is selling the ball, and claims it's all because of the IRS:
