hello.

I have an uncle who has had a full beard for as long as I can remember. this particular uncle is outside often to fish on his boat. if he were to shave his beard and mustache, would the skin underneath be as tan as the rest of his face?

if not, then that would be pretty odd looking. kinda sucks if halfway through your life you don't want a beard anymore.

It's a well known fact that shaving a beard after 20 years or more of not shaving will cause your face to rot off. If your uncle is unaware of this fact, please advise him.

I'm not talking about rotting off. but wouldn't the skin underneath be..pale? or at least significantly lighter than the skin that has had sun exposure for years? wouldn't that look odd?

Depends. Does he tan normally, or is he fair-skinned and doesn't tan (just reddens with no pigment changes, like a lot of red-heads) ?

So what if its pale? You got somethin against white people??

But seriously, if his chin area turned out to be more pale than the rest of his skin, he could just go fishin again and cover the rest of his body with either heavy duty sunscreen or clothing. Problem solved.

It depends on the thickness of his beard.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

The important question is, are we talking a well groomed beard here, or a crazy mofo beard?

oh, definitely a well-groomed beard. I still find it funny that there would be a pale outline of where his beard used to be if he shaved

yes, it would be white underneath, I always shave a couple of day before the end my holiday so my face can even up.

Shave at night, have a 5 o'clock shadow by morning. Problem solved.

Any skin that doesn't get as much sun as the rest of the surrounding skin will be paler than the exposed skin. The pigment isn't "global" or there would be no such thing as bikini lines.
