Ever since I signed up on their site my gmail has been flooded with spam. Anything I can do to stop this? I changed my email address on careerbuilder.com but keep getting spammed. Monster doesn't spam me, much better site.

I had a similar thread last week. I didn't get any concrete answers either.
For future reference, keep a personal email account and a "spam" account.

I haven't noticed an increase in spam since signing up.

One would think you would not want to use a spam account for a job search…

Actual spam spam, or just stuff from Careerbuilder itself?

Always keep a few accounts. Two for regular use, one for signing up for stuff/spam.
It's what I do.

I picked up a domain (got a nice consulting gig, so I can spring for the $9 this year), and use an indefinite number of email addresses -- my 'NN address is macnn.com@foo.com, for example. All the 'catch-all' mail goes to a bulk folder, and I can add server-side rules to trash stuff if an email address escapes into the wild.
So far, strangely enough, I've only had two addresses really go bad -- one for VMWare.com, which they were profusely apologetic about, and one from some scummy Windows driver download site that I used in a pinch once.

i have a yahoo account for spam and a gmail for legit emails. I figured for a job search i'd use my gmail. Bad move, I did end up canceling my careerbuilder account and never plan on using them again. I'll go jobless for I use there crappy site. Monster.com all the way!

So careerbuilder.com now has 2 of your email addresses?
Aside from spam, how about getting a job from careerbuilder.com?

Spam spam.
I started to get more spam after I deleted everything I could from CareerBuilder. I didn't start to get the spam until several months after I posted a resume.
Most of the spam has "CareerBuilder" misspelled. Some may be legitimate, such as tutor positions, some seem to be from other job placement agencies, , and many are from "offshore, financial institutions" offering high salaries to move money.

If you think that's bad.......some asshole at PayPal or Apple Developer Connection sold my email address to a online casino. It was one of those two reputable companies because I am getting the casino invites in German. Those two sites were the only German language services I signed with/gave my email address to.
