I may be getting a job in claims for a large insurance company. I'd be contacting the police, and also the people who were involved in the wreck. They told me the pay is hourly for the first nine months, then I move to salary. Any idea how much I would start hourly? I know the rates very by state, and since I live in the south it may be lower here. I am just trying to get a ballpark figure. Thanks!

To answer your first question: Yes.

I couldn't tell what to expect since you live in the South and I live in the West. It has a lot to do with the standard of living. It will be more than minimum wage, I can almost be positive of that.

I wouldn't be expecting some astronomical figure just because they want you to have a college degree. You'll be looking somewhere between $25k and $30k as a guess.

What is the actual job title?

A claims adjuster here makes between $38k - $48k, so you're looking probably around $30k. Depending on the cost of living, of course.
