Men Only: Can This Prevent Jock Itch? MNBSFWIDK*
If you shower and ALWAYS go from the top down and NEVER wash your 'jock' area after touching your feet can you totally avoid jock itch/rash? And if you towel dry the 'jock' area using the same strategy will that also help prevent jock itch/rash?

It wouldn't totally prevent it, but it might help the chance you don't spread it from one place to the next.

Showering from the top down might not be safe for work?
Oh, I can't wait to see what Dakar does with this.

Face first, torso, arms and legs next, ass second to last, feet last. Isn't that common sense?

Never had jock itch. I have had athelete's foot from time to time. I hate black socks, make my feet insanely sweaty.

I think the top-down theory is best.
Never had jock itch, but still managed to get athlete's foot anyway.
Don't know which athelete, though. :/
Like Rumor said, but I think it's not just the black socks anymore.
It's getting harder to find socks of any kind that don't sweat - too much rayon and plastic, not enough cotton.

You're colonized with the fungus Trichophyton rubrum anyway. If you have the genetic predisposition to be infected by it (either with athlete's foot or jock itch) then not touching your feet before your groin isn't going to do anything to prevent you getting jock itch. What WILL prevent it is being clean and dry and wearing clean underclothes that wick away moisture to keep that area fairly dry. This is because the fungus needs darkness and a lack of fresh air in order to grow. Another thing to do is to thoroughly launder your cotton underwear and then, while it's still damp, microwave it until it's very hot. Do NOT try this with nylon!!!!! Microwaving the damp cotton will eliminate any fungal spores that are still in the fabric after laundry. This is a good idea for socks too, but most socks have something other than cotton in them, so be careful.

I'm still trying to figure out what part may not be safe for work.

One never knows how racy or risque this topic might become. Heck, I was fighting the urge to post diagrams of the showering technique!

Have you ever gone directly from feet to crotch (either washing or drying)?
Ever go to a gym or spa and showered in a common shower?
Oever : Sure. You ever been in a cockpit before?
Joey : No sir, I've never been up in a plane before.
Oever : You ever . . . seen a grown man naked ?
Murdock : Do you want me to check the weather Clarence?
Oever : No, why don't you take care of it. Joey, did ya
ever hang around a gymnasium?

Would anyone consider it NSFW if I said I was controlling myself as we speak?

Yes, w/o any problems.
WTF is wrong with your feet that they would cause your balls to rott ?

Dude, I don't even understand your issues.
Let's look at what you all find so nasty:
dirty feet - soap - rinse -> then proceed with soap on "jock" area
dirty hands - soap - rinse -> handle food
Can anyone explain why the former is considered gross, and the later not ?
Also, I just want to go out on a limb here: my estimate is that the majority of guys here find it nasty to wash feet and jock in that order, but have no problem going into a fastfood place, ordering food and eating it w/o even washing their hands.
It all boilds down to: this thread is stupid.
