This thread is not about the MacNN Abe, but about Abes in general.

It was brought to my attention that Abe could stand for "another bloody enema", and this is quite bothersome to me. Does it bother you too, and if so, should we take action?

I said, “No posts about other members” in this thread before it died.

Oh yes, I did.

P.S.: You forgot the poll.

But this thread is not about the MacNN abe, but about Abes in general, some of which could be non MacNN members.

Besson, why are you using ORT888's sig?

Better question: why are you using other members’ signatures, seemingly going through them in random order?

I think the origins of the name besson is Latin for one who posts inane threads

I haven't seen him do it. That I can recall. And the occasional personal attack isn't grounds for a ban.

Actually ANY personal attack is grounds for bans. And besson doesn't make occasional ones.
If it's been during my time I don't recall. And if it was before, well that was a long time ago.
And it's been a even longer time since I've been banned or gotten scolded by a mod. But you act like I'm the most horrible person.

I think it was a year or two ago for posting threads that "lack content". I've since learned my lesson. Don't worry about Kevin, he's just looking for something to argue about, using the ancient art of pulling stuff out of his ass as his weapon of choice. The medium is the message!

I'm glad that the mods have eased up on this pointless, undefinable, unenforceable rule (and just for the sake of full transparency, this thread wasn't created to challenge this rule).

Not only that, he has been asked to quit posting said inane threads nicely be the people who run and own this site. Much like how Rob continues to ignore bans or requests that he stop activities.

I would ask him the same things he asks Rob. Why does he think he has a right to do such a thing?

I am sure he doesn't see it as the same however. I'd bet money on him not.

The irony...

More irony. If this were the case, which it's not. It would only bother you because it's actions you see (or should see) in yourself that you do not like.

Of course not. You've been asked to quit posting inane threads, yet you keep doing it. Like you ask Rob, what makes you think you can anyhow?

And the mods eased up? Doesn't seem like it to me. How much you wanna bet this one gets locked too?

Besson sweatheart, we like you. We really do. You are just trying too hard. And like Rob, think you have justifications for doing things you simply do not.

Go do it in the forum you run. Not this one. Which has asked you to cut it out several times. TO the point of having to ban you to get you to quit. (much like Rob...)

I actually thought this was one of Besson's better stabs at humor. It makes about as much sense as the thread it's spoofing.

Thanks cool guy!

Is your real first name "Chuck", and since you work in IT your nick is ChuckIT? If so, I think I just figured out this puzzle.

Such implications ought to be grounds for a ban!

If you are referring to the signature I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure it is "I love Hilary Clinton Tree G", not to try to belittle your interpretation.

If I have to choose between constant inane chatter and a fixation on LINUX/GUIs/IT vs. constant chiding and pedantic arguments, I know which way I'm going.

Said rule does have a point, is definable, and is enforceable.

Again besson, I ask you the same question you ask Rob. Why do you think you have valid reasons to do these things in a place that has asked you not to, and you do not own?

The very things you get frustrated at Rob about, others get frustrated at you about.

You both have the "I'll show them!" type attitude. A problem with authority maybe.
